How to move files within the WPS Office client

Change the storage location of document backups and cloud document cache in WPS

1. Click WPS Office in the upper left corner to enter the home page → Click Global Settings in the upper right corner → Click Storage Management

2. For the items that need to be migrated (Document Backup or Cloud Document Cache), click Change Location and select a new location in the pop-up file manager

3. If there are files in the original directory, you can follow the subsequent instructions to migrate the files

Common causes of migration failure and solutions

If you select a location during installation and then migrate after installation, a prompt indicating that the estimated migration time is too long may appear. This could be due to a large number of files or large file sizes. Migration during the installation phase will affect your ability to use WPS for work. It is recommended to re-select the storage directory in WPS after installation to change the location.

If file migration fails, the files will remain in their original location, and the storage location will not be changed. You can later re-select the location in WPS under Global Settings → Storage Management to make the change.
