FAQ
Q1: Why doesn't the color display after setting conditional formatting?
- Solution: Check if the applied range correctly covers the target area; confirm if the condition value is reasonable (e.g., if 「Greater Than 1000」 is set to 「Greater Than 10000」, there will be no match).
Q2: When multiple rule conditions are met, which format is displayed?
- Solution: Conditional formatting is executed in order of priority from top to bottom, with rules at the top having higher priority. You can adjust the order by moving rules up or down in 「Manage Rules」 to change the display effect.
Question 3: Do conditional formatting rules still apply when switching devices?
- Solution: Yes, conditional formatting rules are saved in the document, so they still apply when the Sheets is opened by another account or on another device.
Notes
- Conditional formatting rules are saved with the document, and all collaborators will see the same effects.
- Clearing rules cannot be undone. It is recommended to confirm that you no longer need them before proceeding.
- In custom formula conditional formatting, cell references must use absolute references (the $ symbol).
